Your tuition depends on your program, courseÌýselection, and student status. The estimates below can help you plan your budget.

*These estimates are based on approved 2026–2027 rates and may change. Your actual fees are confirmed after you register for courses.

Domestic (Canadian) undergraduate students

International undergraduate students

Residence

If you choose to live in residence, you could expect to pay approximately: CAD $12,877 – $16,792 (lodging and meal plan)

How your tuition is calculated

At »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥, most undergraduate programs charge tuitionÌýper course, not per program.

Course fees

You pay for each course you take.

  • Most undergraduate courses =Ìý3 credit hours (billing hours)
  • A typical full course load =Ìý5 courses per term (15 credit hours)
  • Tuition varies by faculty, so courses in different faculties may have different rates

Example:ÌýIfÌýyou’reÌýan ArtsÌýmajorÌýand take aÌýScienceÌýelective,Ìýyou’llÌýpay the Science rate for that course.

Mandatory incidental fees

Mandatory incidental fees cover services, including health insurance, facilities, and transit passes. In some cases, you may be able to opt out of some student fees.

Additional fees

In addition to tuition, you may pay:

  • AuxiliaryÌýfees:ÌýSome programs may haveÌýauxiliaryÌýfees to cover other expenses that areÌýnotÌýpart of the course fee, includingÌýlabs,Ìýspecialized equipment, internship and practicum expenses,Ìýmaterials, and facilities.
  • Society fees:ÌýSupport studentÌýsocieties.

International tuition

IfÌýyou’reÌýan international student, your tuition depends on when youÌýstartedÌýyour program.

  • If you started prior to Fall 2023:ÌýYou will pay the international tuition fee.ÌýSee the tuition and fee schedules for details.Ìý
  • If you started in Fall 2024 or later:ÌýYou may be eligible for theÌýInternational Tuition Guarantee.

Exchange students

IfÌýyou’reÌýcoming to »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ on a university-wide exchange program, youÌýdon’tÌýpay »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ tuition or admission deposits. You’reÌýstill responsible for other costs, which may include:

  • U-Pass (transit pass)
  • DSU health and dental plan and/or international health insurance
  • Residence and meal plans
  • Student orientation fee
  • AdditionalÌýcosts, such as lab fees or locker rentals

You may be able to opt out of the health plans if you have comparable coverage under another plan.ÌýView fees to learn more.

  • Rate per:Ìý
    • Billing hour:ÌýThe cost of each credit hour.
    • Course:ÌýEach course = 3 billing hours
    • Term:ÌýBased on a typical full course load (5 courses = 15 billing hours)
  • AuxiliaryÌýfees:ÌýProgram-specificÌýcosts not covered by course fees.
  • Society fees:ÌýStudent society contributions.

Your overall yearly tuition amount

Your total tuition depends on several factors, including:

  • The courses you choose
  • Your program and faculty
  • AnyÌýadditionalÌýor optional fees

Because of this, yourÌýtotalÌýamountÌýowingÌýisn’tÌýconfirmed until you complete your course registration.

Once your fees are assessed, you canÌýview your full balance in your student account.
