Eligibility
To be considered for a bursary, you must meet the following conditions:
Be currently registered in one of the following at »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma program
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term andÌýin good academic standing.

You must demonstrate financial need through your application:
- Your eligibility is based on a comparison of your financial resources and expenses.
- You must complete the bursary application fully and accurately.
- You are expected to use all available funding sources first.
- Families are expected to contribute if able.
- Students are considered financially dependent on parents for four years after high school, unless exceptional circumstances are explained in the application
Have applied for all available financial resources, including:Ìý
- Government student loans, or Band funding (for Indigenous students)
- A student line of credit (if available in your home country)
- If you are not eligible for these sources of funding, please provide details in your bursary application.
You may access the bursary program for a maximum of five years.
Exclusions
You are not eligible for bursaries if:
You are on a paid co-op term
You are a visiting student
You are enroled in a non-degree program or qualifying studies
- You are not officially registered at »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥
- You are seeking funding for:Ìý
- Current or previous debts
- Outstanding fees or charges from previous terms
Bursaries are awarded for the current term only and cannot be applied retroactively.

Note: Students enrolled in Graduate Studies, Law, Medicine, or Dentistry (excluding Dental Hygiene) must apply through their Faculty office. King’s students should contact the .Ìý
How to apply
Application periods
Fall 2026: September 8 – September 28
Winter 2027: January 6 – January 26
Summer 2027: May 3 – May 25
Submit your bursary application through Dal Online:
- Log in to
- Select Student Awards and Financial Aid
- Select Apply for Financial Aid
Email all supporting documentation to awards@dal.ca and include your »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ ID (B0 number). You may be asked to submit:
Government student loan assessment (Manitoba and Quebec)
Provide documentation for your provincial student loan office that includes the following:
Start and end dates for your current loan
Funding amounts
Your name
A screenshot from your loan portal can be submitted if formal documentation is not available.
Student line of credit
Recent bank statement showing:Ìý
Your name
Credit limit
Current balance
Indigenous post-secondary community funding
Submit your Band or community funding letter (if applicable)
International studentsÌý
Submit copies of the financial documents used when you applied for your study permit
Military family documentation: NS and PEI (Fall term only)
If you are a dependent or descendant of a Canadian Military Service Member that is/was stationed in Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island, you can submit documentation to attest to this.
Decisions are sent to your »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ email
Expect a response approximately one month after the deadline

If you were not awarded a bursary, but feel your situation warrants reconsideration, please submit an appeal by emailing awards@dal.ca.
