Call for Proposals opening soon!
OurÌý28th annual »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Conference on University Teaching and Learning (DCUTL)ÌýwillÌýcelebrateÌýuniversity teaching and learning among faculty, staff, and graduate students. It is a showcase for current research and practice andÌýprovidesÌýopportunitiesÌýto fosterÌýnew ideasÌýand projects.ÌýÌýWe invite our friends,ÌýcolleaguesÌýand communities to share solutions, to seed ideas and to celebrate successes, contributing to a vibrant 2-day conference.
The 2026 conference will take placeÌýMay 6 (in-person) and 7 (online)Ìýand this year’s theme is: Opening Doors, Disciplines, and Minds:ÌýEmbracingÌýthe potential of an accessible world
»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ invites submissions that while acknowledging and addressing the persistent obstacles weÌýencounter, will focusÌýon creating a culture that is open,Ìýinviting,Ìýand accessible for all.ÌýÌýWe hope to celebrate successful practicesÌýand empower participants to take their next steps, while acknowledging the need for processes of change that includeÌýthe whole community,ÌýandÌýmakeÌýspace for complexity, nuance, and respectful disagreement. ÌýWe will not realize the potential of Universal Design for Learning through rigid prescriptions, imported solutions, and rule-setting for faculty.ÌýÌýWe need inclusive processes ofÌýenergizingÌýinterpretation, within and between disciplines.Ìý
We call for contributions which speak to howÌýinclusive changeÌýhas been brought about, sustained and replicated within and across disciplines.ÌýÌýThrough our teaching, we open our discipline to the excitement,ÌýcreativityÌýand intelligence of the next generation.ÌýÌýÌýCreativity is key: critical thought combined with fresh perspectives.ÌýÌýLeaving in place the barriers that exclude difference and reward homogeneity is not just unethical,Ìýit’sÌýshort-sighted, and fraught with risk in an environment where we wish to develop our understanding through questioning,Ìýinquiry, and challenging the limits of what we know – as a discipline, a community, a nation, and a world.Ìý Therefore, we call for contributions that are unapologetic celebrations of success,Ìýpotential,Ìýand excitement: that furtherÌýdemonstrateÌýthat the challenge of inclusive and accessible change is open to us all.Ìý
