After the tremendous success of its inaugural year, Dal Innovation Week is returning from September 19-26, 2025. Last year's event attracted 1,500 students, faculty, and business leaders, and this year organizers are thrilled to bring even more innovation-focused activities to campus.

Continuing its tradition of hosting a lecture in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, ��ɫֱ�� Law Hour is pleased to welcome Schulich Law alumnus Jarvis Googoo ('08) for his seminar "Indigenous-Led Economic Development and The Law: A Perspective on Economic Reconciliation."

Googoo is the director of the Atlantic Indigenous Economic Development and Integrated Research Program (AIEDIRP) at the Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nations Chiefs Secretariat.

Schulich Scramble Golf Tournament

The Schulich Sports Committee invites law students to register for the annual Schulich Scramble golf tournament. The winning team will claim this year's Domus Cup.

Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure

For the third consecutive year, students from the Schulich School of Law have entered a team to participate in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure in Halifax.

The Schulich Sports Committee invites all members of the Weldon community, along with their family and friends, to support Team Dal Law Students by participating in the event and/or by making a monetary donation.

The team raised over $17,000 in 2024. This year, they hope to raise more than $20,000.

Volunteer Event for 1Ls at McInnes Cooper

McInnes Cooper is pleased to partner with the Telecom Pioneers – a group of Bell Aliant retirees who dedicate time to various volunteer activities – to invite all first-year Schulich Law students to a volunteer event to help make heart-shaped pillows for cardiac surgery patients at the QEII hospital.

Following the activity, students are welcome to mingle with McInnes Cooper members, enjoy some light refreshments, and learn more about the student recruitment process at the firm, as well as its Collective Social Responsibility Initiative, which includes community engagement, environmental stewardship, pro bono legal services, wellness promotion, and inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA).

Why heart-shaped pillows? Heart-shaped pillows provide relief for cardiac surgery patients by stabilizing the chest cavity when coughing, repositioning, sneezing, or laughing, which can be painful after an operation. Beyond the physical benefits, heart pillows also serve as a symbol of comfort, support, and survival, often becoming cherished mementos of recovery.

In keeping with its commitment to building a strong, inclusive, and supportive community for Asian law students at the Schulich School of Law, the ��ɫֱ�� Asian Law Students Association (DALSA) invites members of the Weldon community, as well as their friends and allies, to its annual Welcome Mixer.

This event, which speaks directly to DALSA's mission to foster friendships, celebrate cultural diversity, and create a network of mentors and professional development opportunities, is a great way to meet other Asian law students from different sections and years, and sample complimentary drinks and snacks from all over Asia.
