The Atlantic Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers held its 24th Annual Research Conference at Saint Mary’s University from October 19-21. Two SRES students were recipients of first-place awards (and cash prizes!) at the conference.
Best Graduate Paper Presentation: Brittany White, Master of Environmental Studies program for her paper: Environmentalism Online: Examining the presence and purpose of a Northern Gateway Pipeline Twitter community.
Best Poster Presentation: Katie Paroschy, Master of Resource and Environmental Management program for her poster: Success of agri-environmental programs at preserving natural biodiversity on Nova Scotia farms.
SRES was well-represented at this geographical research conference. Six graduate students delivered outstanding paper presentations and an additional six gave poster presentations. Congratulations to all participating students and to our award-winners!
