Special dietary needs

Our team will help you with special dietary needs while you are eating in our dining halls. Look out for labels for common dietary needs and allergies.

Peanut and/or tree nut allergies

Our campus dining halls听do not use any peanut or听tree nut ingredients in any recipes or offerings.*

However, make sure to read the labels on听any pre-packaged products or pre-made baked goods, as some may have been prepared in a facility where they may have come in contact with nuts.

*Some ingredients may also be prepared in a facility where they may have come in contact with nuts. If in doubt, please speak with a Purple Allergy Leader (PAL) in a purple shirt to review the labels on applicable ingredients.

Food labels

Look for these labels at various stations in your dining hall. They听represent听the听most commonly requested听dietary needs:

True Balance

Howe Dining Hall听offers听a stand-alone听True Balance station听to better serve students with food allergies.听

Food prepared at this station is safe for 9 of the 11 most common allergens, including:听dairy,听eggs,听peanuts,听tree nuts,听shellfish,听soy,听mustard,听sesame, and gluten.

True Balance听is a concept found across many Aramark-managed dining locations at colleges and universities, featuring recipes developed without the most common food allergies plus all sources of gluten and prepared using allergen-focused safety protocols.

This area includes separate prep areas and cooking appliances to further reduce risks of cross contamination and ensure the safety of those with severe allergies.

Due to the risk of cross-contamination, self-service is not permitted; however, you are welcome to request as much food as you want from staff at the station.
