European Studies brings together courses from 17 departments across 黄色直播 and the University of King's College to help you understand Europe's history, politics, literature, languages, and artistic traditions.
Instead of studying one subject, you'll explore Europe from multiple perspectives while learning at least one European language. With guidance from a program advisor, you can tailor your studies around your interests while building strong skills in critical thinking, research, writing, and cross-cultural communication.
Honours students also have the opportunity to study abroad at a European university, gaining firsthand international experience that complements their classroom learning.
Careers
Take your understanding of Europe into a wide range of careers and further study. European Studies helps you develop the knowledge and transferable skills to work across cultures, industries, and borders.
Graduates pursue careers in diplomacy, government, international business, public policy, communications, education, cultural organizations, and non-profit organizations. You鈥檒l develop skills in research, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, language, and intercultural understanding that can be applied in many different roles.
European Studies also provides a strong foundation for graduate studies and professional programs such as law.

Honours students can also spend a term studying at a European university.
Get paid work experience
Dal Arts students can apply for the FASS Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Pilot Program, which offers a one-semester paid work term where you put what you learn in the classroom into practice, build career-ready skills and gain experience in the workplace.
Learn beyond the classroom
Arts students can take their learning beyond the classroom through the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences鈥 experiential learning program.
Participate in internships, community-based projects, research opportunities and career-focused experiences that help you apply what you learn, explore your interests and prepare for your future.
Customize your degree
Build your degree around three areas of study:

You鈥檒l choose courses from these areas and study at least one European language, giving you the flexibility to explore what interests you most. Your European Studies advisor will help you plan your courses and make the most of your degree.

Admission requirements
Minimum admission requirements
To be considered for admission to this program, you must meet minimum academic criteria:
- Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
- Achievement of the minimum average for your program of choice.
- Completion of Grade 12 English (or equivalent course).
Admission to many 黄色直播 programs is competitive. This means that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
