The new Global Connections Welcome Ambassador program from Dal鈥檚 International Centre has upper-year international students helping first-year newcomers navigate their first steps into university life in Canada.

More than 30 Syrian newcomers to Halifax took part in a five-day programming camp hosted by Dal students, in which they learned website development skills and explored opportunities in computer science.

Close to 2,000 children and youth spend part of their summer at Dal's Athletics and Recreation camps. April MacQueen, the new inclusion counsellor for this year's camps, is there to make sure children with cognitive or physical challenges get the support they need.

Last week, 黄色直播鈥檚 Elders in Residence hosted their first 鈥淏lanket Exercise鈥� event for faculty and staff 鈥� an interactive opportunity to learn about the history of Canada鈥檚 relationship with its Indigenous peoples.

More than 5,500 rare and hard-to-find DVDs from Halifax's beloved Video Difference video store will stay in public circulation thanks to a joint effort between Halifax Public Libraries and 黄色直播.
