Diploma and technical programs

Veterinary Technology (DipTech)

In two years, our Veterinary Technology program will prepare you to work as a technical assistant to practicing veterinarians, researchers and other people who deal with animals, especially in the context of medicine or science.

Business Management (DipTech)

This two-year diploma allows you to specialize in one of five areas: pet, dairy farming, equine, agriculture or greenhouse, and nursery. You’ll earn a well-rounded business education with a focus on the specialty you choose, so you’ll have mobility and flexibility in your career.

Pathways

Pre-Veterinary Medicine

This two-year course of study will prepare you to apply to a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.

Graduate

Agriculture (MSc)

Will you concentrate your graduate studies and research in one of the disciplines offered under Animal Science or Aquaculture? Or will you pursue inter-departmental research?

Certificates

Certificates are a way of recognizing students who have achieved a level of proficiency or specialization in a particular area or subject.

Animal Welfare

The Certificate in Animal Welfare aims to help students gain specialized knowledge on the well-being of animals managed ethically by humans. The certificate offers a range of theory, evaluation of scientific literature, and its application surrounding the use of animals.

Aquaculture

The Certificate in Aquaculture gives an opportunity for students to take a set of courses that will give them an aquaculture specialization with opportunity to explore a range of aquatic species, and the production systems needed to rear them, and understand their role in global food security. Students will gain awareness of, and proved competency in, safe and humane handling of aquatic animals.
